Across the Cracks

US$165.00

The Narrative

The view of an abandoned house, captured through broken walls, frames the inner world of "broken" women. It serves as a metaphor for the duality between internal pain and the imperfect perceptions of society. To materialize the roughness of these perceptions, the artist transferred this image onto a metallic sheet and applied acrylic mixed with sand, creating a tactile, physical landscape.

The Technique

  • Method: Acrylic hand-painting and textured overlays on a Metallic Sheet transfer.

  • The Feel: These pieces possess a physical "shimmer" and depth that only a metallic base can provide.

  • Note on Creation: This is a custom-finished metallic work. Please allow 7–10 days for hand-painting and curing in the Cape Town studio before dispatch.

Materiality: Beyond the Paper

While a traditional photograph lives on paper, this Masterpiece Series is an exploration of physical depth. Each work is meticulously transferred onto a Metallic i-Bond Sheet, creating a base that interacts with the light in your room. As the sun moves, the highlights of the image shift, reflecting a "living" quality that paper cannot achieve.

The Artist’s Hand

This is not a digital reproduction; it is a physical intervention. After the transfer, Grace Remondo hand-paints the surface with textured acrylics, building a tactile landscape over the image. This process bridges the gap between photography and sculpture, ensuring that the "repair" on your specific piece is unique.

Philanthropy & Community Mentorship

Empowering the Next Generation of Artists

The Bloubergrant High School Legacy Project (2024 – Present) > Grace serves as a Mentor for the Bloubergrant High School Photography Club. This residency program goes beyond technical skills, teaching students from the Conceptualization of an idea to the Process of Creativity throughout Art Photography.

The 2026 Vision: > Our goal is to empower students to transition from "taking photos" to "creating a corpus of work." By teaching them sponsorship and marketing skills, the program aims to help the club become self-sustaining, ensuring that every student has access to the equipment they need to tell their story.

“We aren't just building photographers; we are building visual storytellers and future entrepreneurs.”
