Goddessarts Gallery, Germany | Room II Due to an incredible response, the PORTRAIT international exhibition has been extended until March 31, 2026. This curated collection celebrates identity and human expression, featuring my mixed-media interventions alongside exceptional global artists.

🕊️ The Artist Bio

Grace Remondo is an international fine art photographer and educator whose practice centers on the psychological journey from absence to presence. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, her work is a profound exploration of resilience and the reconstruction of the self after trauma.

In November 2025, Grace launched her landmark photobook, The Rebuilt Horizon: An Inventory of Absence and Light. This body of work, rooted in the urgent social reality of the GBV crisis in South Africa, brought her international acclaim and led her to 2026 curation by Lena Snow at the Goddess Arts Gallery (Germany) and her inclusion in the Art of Hearts international collective.

Beyond her studio, Grace is a dedicated mentor, coaching the Bloubergrant High School Photography Club, where she empowers youth to use visual storytelling as a tool for both personal healing and professional entrepreneurship.

Exhibition Extended! See 'The Rebuilt Horizon' at Goddessarts Gallery through March 31.

News & Global Features

Featured in Goddessarts Magazine: The Rebuilt Horizon

I am honored to share a deep dive into my creative process and the philosophy of Kintsugi in a featured article for Goddessarts Magazine. This interview explores the journey from "Absence to Presence" and the social reality of the GBV crisis that informs my work.

The Artist Statement

"My practice is fundamentally guided by the philosophy of Kintsugi—the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, acknowledging that an object is more beautiful for having been broken. I physically translate this metaphor onto the human form through mixed-media photography.

By applying gold seams and mica powder directly to my prints, I intentionally highlight the rupture. I do not seek to hide the scar; I transform it into a line of luminous strength. My latest work, The Rebuilt Horizon, serves as a visual inventory of the difficult path from trauma to triumph. Through my lens, I give voice to the survivor, affirming that the reconstructed self achieves a state of enduring value. I believe that photography does not just document a life—it participates in the healing of it."
